James Steel is a creative producer originally from Scotland. James has a passion for new musical theatre with a strong focus on the early stages of developing original works.

Whilst James was producing with Kouban Productions, his most notable works was USHERS: The Front of House Musical. James was part of the founding of the Hope Theatre and helped forge the UK’s first theatre with an in house agreement with Equity (Equity Fringe Agreement under the campaign ‘Professionally made, Professionally paid’). The show later went on to run at the Charing Cross Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe and The Arts Theatre, West End. With a background in Sales & Ticketing for the West End the company will deliver on being driven by data, technology, dynamic abilities and affordable ticketing.

James is committed to transparency within the industry and equal pay; the company will strive to achieve this on all scales of work.

The company is focused on London’s Off-West End landscape and Scotland. The production company has an open and accessible submissions programme for all new musicals.

He is proudly supported by Stage One, a charity that supports new UK Theatre producers. James was awarded the Stage One Bursary 2022 to continue developing original works.
